Children's ministry

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Mark 10:14b

APC is a church full of families with children. There are many activities geared toward our youngest members:

Children's Church

Children's Church takes place during Sunday worship, providing children ages 5-7 a worship service on their level. They hear the Gospel and learn to pray and sing as they prepare to join the adults for worship in the sanctuary.

Sunday School

Children's Sunday School classes take place at 10:45am and focus on learning the Bible and how to apply it to life. The Sunday School material presents a gospel truth in many ways, beginning with a lesson from scripture, a supporting activity, and—if time permits—a craft that is linked to the lesson.

Nursery is the first introduction to gospel community for our children, and our desire is that they learn of Jesus' great love for them while they are entrusted in our care. APC offers a nursery for children ages four and under. The nursery is available during worship and Sunday School; and also on Sunday evenings where children spend the time singing, making crafts, learning Bible studies, playing, and eating dinner. If you would like to volunteer or have questions about the nursery, contact Erin Furgerson, APC Nursery Coordinator.

Explorers Children's Ministry

Explorers Children's Ministry at Alexandria Presbyterian ChurchExplorers meets Sundays 5:00-7:00pm and is for children ages five through 5th grade. Explorers is like a Covenant Fellowship Group for children. Children have an opportunity to build relationships with one another and with the leaders of their small group. The night includes game time, dinner shared together and a lesson from Tim Keller’s PCA New City Catechism. New City Catechism is based on and adapted from the great Reformation-era catechisms, providing kids with rich exposure to the great truths of our faith.
