"...you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone." Ephesians 2:19-20
On behalf of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church family, we invite you to become an active part of our life and community. We believe that participation in the life of a congregation is essential for your growth in Jesus Christ. Scripture teaches that "In Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." (Romans 12:5) Membership at APC is therefore open to all who profess faith in Jesus Christ and believe the basic teachings of the Christian faith. One may join upon a Profession of Faith, Reaffirmation of Faith or by Letter of Transfer from an evangelical church.
Newcomers Fellowship Dinner
If you’ve been attending APC for one week or several months, APC invites you to attend one of our Newcomers Dinners. These events are hosted quarterly by members of the church as a time meet other people new to the area, a chance to meet church officers and staff, ask questions and learn more about the ministry God is building here. Childcare is provided. Please RSVP to Office Manager Sue Edwards at firstname.lastname@example.org, or sign-up after worship on Sunday.
Anyone interested in membership or in gaining a deeper understanding of APC will want to first attend the Inquirer's Class led by our pastor. There you will receive an introduction to Christianity, the Presbyterian Church in America, and the specific vision, mission and philosophy of ministry of Alexandria Presbyterian Church.
The Inquirer's Class is offered three times each year, usually in February, June and October. It begins with a great meal on Friday evening, and continues on Saturday with opportunities to fellowship and learn together.
The Friday evening (6:30-9:30pm) / Saturday day (9:00am-3:00pm) Inquirer's Class will provide you with an introduction to Christianity, to our denomination — the Presbyterian Church in America, and to the specific vision/mission and philosophy of ministry at APC. Meals will be provided (dinner at the Friday evening session, and lunch at the Saturday session). On an as needed basis, childcare may be provided for the Saturday session.
To register, sign up at the Information Booth downstairs in the Fellowship Hall, or contact the church office.
