Public Hearing tomorrow evening on APC's New Worship Center: All APCers (members and regular attenders) are welcome to attend a meeting of the Alexandria Planning Commission tomorrow, Thursday, November 7th at 7pm, during which APC's new worship center will be considered by the Commission. The meeting will be held in the Alexandria City Council chambers (Room 2400), which are on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 301 King Street (the building which is the backdrop to our Easter Sunrise service on market square). Several APC members are registering to speak on behalf of the project, so we have that element of the meeting covered; but there will be a point, during Pastor Tom's remarks before the commission, where he'll invite any supporters of the project to please stand. Please consider attending the meeting, if your schedule permits; and please continue to pray for this project. As mentioned during worship on Sunday, we invite you to join us tomorrow in a Day of Prayer and Fasting among the APC congregation. Please pray for the Lord’s favor on the meeting tomorrow evening, and that the development of the site, along with our proposed building, would be approved.
Men’s Breakfast is this Saturday, November 9. It’s not too late to sign up! Email Pastor Josh Diack at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like attend and have not yet signed up. APC’s men will gather on Saturday morning from 8-10:15am at the Russell Road Campus for a time of food, fellowship, and sharing. The topic to be addressed is men discipling men: why it’s so important; what it looks like; and how to get started. We’ll also consider the challenge of forming friendships in an age of extreme polarization.
Syrian Story Night this Sunday, November 10 from 5-7pm at WBRC. Come hear the personal stories behind the news, from Syrian families who have been attending APC recently. Nearly 6 million people have fled the civil war in Syria—equal to Maryland’s entire population. It will be our privilege to hear their stories, learn about their culture and food, and to pray for them and their war-torn country. Contact Deacon Nate Kinder with questions: email@example.com. Childcare is available at the Russell Road Campus. PROTAS will be joining the story night at WBRC.
Holiday Giving Opportunities. Please see the attached document for a menu of ways to serve this holiday season, both locally and internationally. Whether as individuals, families, or CFGs, these opportunities are wonderful ways to show generosity toward those in need.
REFRESH – Community for Moms gathering in November is cancelled. Due to many church activities scheduled for our regular gathering time (second Sunday of the month), we will take the month of November off. Please mark your calendars for the December 8th gathering from 5-7pm!

Thanksgiving Praise Service and Reception Sunday, November 24, 5pm (RRC, Sanctuary). Everyone is invited to gather for a unique service of thanksgiving and praise, where individuals will have the opportunity to publicly give testimony to God’s goodness throughout the year, or share a favorite passage with the congregation. Immediately following the service we will have a reception. If you are able to bring an appetizer or dessert, or can help with set up or clean up, please contact Vicki Wolfe at firstname.lastname@example.org or sign up at either campus after worship on Sunday.
What are Your Thanksgiving Plans? Do you have space for others at your table? Or would you like to be invited to join others from APC? Each year, members of our church find themselves without a place to celebrate Thanksgiving. This includes some of our immigrant brothers and sisters, and others who can’t travel home for Thanksgiving. If you have room at your table this year, or would like to celebrate with others from APC, please contact Sue Edwards, Office Manager, at email@example.com.
The nursery ministry is in search of people to teach and work with APC’s littlest. The Bible class at WBRC, which meets during worship, is in need of 1-2 teachers to volunteer. Additionally, the Sunday evening nursery is growing and with that the need for another 1-2 paid workers. If you are interested in hearing more about these fun opportunities to work with our covenant children, please talk to Erin Furgerson or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
