This morning we are pleased to welcome the following new member:  Regina Thomassen.

Reminder—Deacons’ Fund Offering:  We will return to our normal schedule next Sunday for the Deacons’ Fund offering.  An offering is taken the first Sunday of every month for the Deacons’ Fund.

The Ladies Friday Morning Bible Study begins a new study on the book of Titus beginning Feb 3.  The dates for this study are Feb 3, 17, March 2, 16, 30, April 13, 27, and May 11.  The study begins with a time of fellowship at 9:30am, study at 10:00am, and ends with small prayer groups by 11:30am.  We will be using the Navigator Life Change Series study guide for Titus and the cost is $10.00.  Childcare is provided. Sign up at the information booth; questions, contact Dottie Palmer.

Inquirers’ Class—February 3-4th:  If you are interested in membership or in gaining a deeper understanding of APC you should attend this class, where you will receive an intro to Christianity, the PCA, and the specific vision/mission and philosophy of ministry at APC. Membership is open to all who profess faith in Christ and believe the basic teachings of the Christian faith. Attending the class does not obligate you to join the church. Childcare is provided. Sign up at the Info Booth. Contact Carrie Ragan or Tom Holliday for more information.

APC Youth Choir:  The APC Youth Choir will be singing in the Palm Sunday, (April 1) Maundy Thursday (April 5) and Easter (April 8) services.  All youth from 3rd grade on up are encouraged to participate (treble singers).  We’ll rehearse on Sundays from 10:30-11:14am in Room #303 on February 5, 12, 26, March 4, 11, 19, 25, April 1; also on Saturday, March 17 from 9-10:15am.  Please sign up at the Information Booth or contact Gale Manor.

PROTAS Winter Retreat: PROTAS 6-12th graders will be heading to Red Oak Lodge and Massanutten Ski Resort again this year from February 17-20th.  Forms have been sent to your homes and extra forms are outside of Adam LeRoy’s office.  Cost varies based on skiing options and scholarships are available.  Registrations are due February 12th!

2012 Missions Trips: The following mission trip opportunities will be available this year — Ishinomaki, Japan: earthquake/tsunami recovery and mercy trip (May 24th-June 4th); London, UK: evangelism (September); Malawai: African Bible College, VBS, sonship, orphanage, construction, school year preparation (summer/fall/winter 2012).  An informational fact sheet is available on the ministry table leading to the Fellowship Hall. In addition to these trips, our PROTAS students and adults will be returning to Costa Rica July 18-31.

2012 Missions Weekend—March 9-10: A missions-focus Friday night and Saturday morning for sharing and equipping opportunities. If interested in any of the above missions activities, please contact Missions Committee members (for committee roster see http://alexandriapres.org/430264.ihtml).

Have you or someone you love experienced a past abortion?  Please consider joining us for a small group Bible study, Forgiven and Set Free, beginning Feb 2, from 6-8 pm at Assist Pregnancy Center.  To pre-register or for more information, call Jane Fuller at 703-354-7272.  ASSIST is also holding two Volunteer Interest  meetings at the Center on February 7—daytime 1–2pm and evening 6:30-7:30pm.
