About APC
Service Times
Our Worship service begins each Sunday morning at 8:50am, followed by a time of fellowship and coffee downstairs at 10:30am, and Sunday School for all ages at 11:00am. We provide a nursery for infants and toddlers (under 5), as well as Children's Church for children ages 5-8. The Lord's Supper is celebrated on the second Sunday of each month.
Worship Style
We offer a blended style of worship at APC, including both contemporary praise music and traditional hymns, choirs and soloists. But our worship is not mainly about the music we sing, nor about listening to our pastor. Our worship is a re-telling of the Gospel—the glory of God, our brokenness and need for redemption, and the grace of God demonstrated in Jesus Christ who redeems us. Each Sunday, we have the opportunity to respond to these truths, because good worship is really a dialogue. As God speaks to us, we respond in song, prayer, adoration and service to one another.
Visiting APC
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or are a charter member of APC, it is important to all of us that you feel welcomed into our church family. When you visit APC, we invite you to join us downstairs in the Fellowship Hall after the Sunday Worship service for a cup of coffee or tea. This is a great opportunity for you to meet others and learn more about our church.
A special Newcomers' Fellowship Time is offered the fourth Sunday of every month, immediately following the worship service, for those who have been visiting three months or less. Please feel free to join APC staff and leaders in the adult wing foyer (between Rooms #210-213) to fellowship and learn more about the life of our church.
Each Sunday, newcomers and members alike will find news about ministries, programs, and groups at the Information Booth located in the Fellowship Hall and on the bulletin boards located throughout the room. Tape copies of the weekly sermons are also available at no cost to you - just add your name and date requested to the sign-up sheet on the Education bulletin board.
Del Ray Baptist Church shares its building with APC. It's within easy access of both Old Town Alexandria and Highway 395. For detailed directions and a map of the area, click HERE.
We would be happy to provide shuttle transportation from the King Street Metro Station to the church between 8:30-8:45am on Sunday mornings. To utilize this service, please contact the church by the previous Friday to schedule transportation - the shuttle will not run automatically.
